It is a privilege for me to introduce this University to the prospective students, their parents and other stakeholders. Established in 2003 by an Act of the State Legislative Assembly, Chaudhary Devi Lal University is crucially located in the western most part of the state bordering both Punjab and Rajasthan thereby endeavouring to cater to the academic demands especially of the area, and of the nation at large by offering regular as well as D C E approved courses and programmes through University Centre for Distant Learning. Spread over a sprawling campus, the university is situated in the prime location of the city of Sirsa well-connected by train and road. The university offers various U.G. and P.G. courses besides M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes in humanities, sciences, law, commerce and management. Realizing that the rapid pace of development in the country has raised the expectation of the people from the institutions of higher learning, the university is seriously working to embark on new projects to provide better opportunities to its students in this highly competitive globalized world. Though the University has seen considerable growth in the past few years, with the introduction of new courses of study, improved infrastructure and new initiatives, it can hardly afford to be self-complacent. It aims at strengthening its human resource further through broader international exposure, improved soft shill development and potential enhancement. With the range of disciplines represented, the quality of the faculty engaged in externally funded research projects, regularly updated. and enriched course curriculum, and students at the University, constructively engaged in curricular and extra- curricular activities, university is well -poised to make its mark internationally.In terms of infrastructure and other collateral support, the university has been proactive.
